Freezing Fingers + Warm Studio
It is very cold in Johannesburg at the moment and all I can think of is wrapping up warmly and heating the studio. I wear gloves with no finger tips which are an absolute finger saver and I can paint and write without too much difficulty too,
I was fortunate enough to receive Lin and Megan Kerr's beautful hand-bound book this past week. (thank you Pearl), The story is convoluted and fascinating with deeply moving vocab for the story line and a fantastical story. Lin's illustrations are clear and graphic with letters that drop into the images with delicate accuracy. Do order a copy from Lin at Limetree Studio, you will be inspired.
One of Lin's wonderfull illustrations:

I have been working on my altered book project and am enjoying the 'out-the-box' thinking and creating I am compelled to do.

The students are still finding it difficult to 'mess up a book' not finding the concept the idea of 'altering' easy. So we continue with Italic and enjoy the moment of creativity as we can.
So with winter warm gloves and a mug of something hot, I suggest you get to your studio and create the winter blues away.
