Day One: Starting with water colours we'll create A4 sheets of paper where the colours mix on the paper with a beautiful translucency. We'll experiment with creating word designs using stacked lettering and alternative tools such as blasa pens (Neuland) and metal stamps, as well as pointed pens and the round-ended nib.
Day Two: More watercolour sheets will be used to make simple cut-out letters using a scalpel and as a group, we'll experiment making a panel of words as well as doing some individual trial pieces. Lin will demonstrate how this method can also be used to make fabric banners.
